The Stick Insect or Walking Stick Insect - Acanthoxyla inermis - is green or brown, and the genus Acanthoxyla is very unusual in that it contains only females, and reproduces via asexual reproduction or parthenogenesis. It is common here in New Zealand, and thrives on garden plants, native forest and scrub.
