Around Christmas,1997, I was living in Cary, NC. There was a flock of Evening Grosbeaks that fed at my bird feeders several times. This has been the only tme I have seen them in this area. My feeders contained a song bird mix that was largely black oil sunflower seeds, safflower seeds, dried cherries and peanuts.
